A friend of mine snapped this pic. He caught this elusive creature hovering around in the Lou. For you guys from here, on Grand near SLU.

How many Dwebbers have this much ground clearance?:D

Bannon...I see that car all of the time. It has a huge sticker that says 26's on the back window. I snapped a pic of a Caprice Classic on 30s up in North County. It was 4linked front and rear with air bags.

I used to see one or two of those a month on the side of the road with a tire/wheel missing. Whooda thunk those 20yr old factory bearings and hubs weren't up to the forces of a lift and bigger tire? (although I used to see a LOT more broken down cars with the reverse offset wheels. But they were alot more popular in my town).

We have a lot of those around this part of Georgia. The only problem is when they try to turn a corner... they have trouble making a 90° turn on a city street without lots of tire rubbing on the inside fender well.

I think its a box, but I'll have to verify with my south of I30 friends back in Dallas.

The way I understand it is donk = 70's, box = 80's, and bubble = 90's.

this kind of stuff is what we usually see, replace the Jesus tailgate with Ojinaga and the rear window with some fighting roosters.

You are so white its not even funny.

Then again the brothas have dumbed their own terminology down so much that the shit dosent even mean what it used too...

Traditionally, a DONK is a '70's era Impala or Caprice. But after a while, boys started doing up buicks and olds B and C bodies and the rules blurred a little, in the same way that little shits in my hometown began referring to ANY mustang as a "five point oh" after a while. Shameful.

A BOX is a '80s era Caprice. Following the same trend the BUBBLE is the next bodystyle Caprice with the more rounded shape.

The picture originally attached is a G body Monte Carlo SS. Maybe the decals indicate it has a 434 stroker small block chevy engine. It might be refered to as a G body, but calling it a BOX or a DONK would make you sound like a fool in the hi-riser community. Which ironically is comprised of fools.

Oh and by the way, these are the only 30in wheels I remember seeing. They are the only set like them in the world (only two were finished in this pic) and they are about 3in thick... and totally clear.

That's also the right year to have a 4.3l v6. not sure what the other 4 would be for.

Piss em off. tell em it's a 4.9. Only ford's rounding methods get it to 5.0 :D

I don't know, I have it on good authority that it is acceptable to refer to that as a box.

I kind of like them. Its just like any other automotive trend out there, many people cheapskate their way to a pile of crap, but some have serious money and talent invested. At least its admitted that its all done for show, unlike the too fast too furious crowd.

az_max I think it would be a 3.8l, did the 4.3 ever go in non truck/van applications?
