Short notice, but I'm planning to run Ride Across Georgia again the second weekend of November.

The roster is just about full between alumni from both 2011 and 2014. Right now there are a few spots available. More may come open as circumstances dictate. Shoot me a private message and I'll get you in the queue.

The guidelines:

-Limit of seven trucks. Any more than that would be unworkable for at least two reasons: there simply aren't that many areas where we can camp as a group with that many trucks, and the possibility exist that we would hit a dead end and have to turn around.
-No trailers. This is directly related to the space and turn-around considerations noted above. Steve Springs of Southeast Overland would be an exception to this as he may be a sponsor of the trip. If you have an issue with this, don't bother signing up.
-Solid recovery points front and rear.
-4WD with a low range option. This is not an obstacle-heavy slog festival. Neither is it a pavement pounding excursion.
-FRS radio. This should be sufficient for our needs.
-There is no hard itinerary beyond the meeting on Thursday evening (or even Friday morning if you can make it to our camp before we roll out) and the wrap-up on Sunday.
-Resupply is excellent along the route, with fuel and food available at multiple points. You can leave the jerry cans at home.
-You are responsible for your meals. (That's not to say that we won't have folks volunteer to make something for the group.)
-We will be spending the nights at primitive, drive-up campsites within the Chattahoochee National Forest. So, don't expect flush toilets and hot showers each evening.
-Given the previous point, if your wife and kids aren't accustomed to camping in an open spot in the woods with no facilities other than trees and a creek, they might want to skip this trip.

Now for the good stuff. We will meet up on Thursday evening at a nice camping spot near Burrell's Ford on the Chattooga River at the Georgia/S.C. line. On Friday morning we will pack up and head west. Beyond that, our plans are flexible. Much will depend on how fast we move and what obstacles we encounter. I am open to deviating from the planned route to explore something of interest. I do not want this to turn into a mad dash to make it to X point by Y time.

We ended up having four trucks. It was a good weekend.
