Reusing Timing gear/sprocket?

First off, I'm sure this is a huge no-no, but here's the situation.
I'm talking about the larger of the two, the one that goes on the camshaft. I have two new(duplicate order on my part) AllMakes sprockets. Both of the key notches are too large to fit in the keyhole of the camshaft. It appears this is due to poor manufacturing/ the casting process. I could probably make it work with a little tuning with a tiny file, but that in and of itself makes me leary. My front cover is off, I need to get this done this weekend so I'm in a time crunch.
I have three questions:
1) WTF is the deal with the AllMakes sprocket?
2) The old sprocket appears to be in good condition compared to the new AllMakes one. Can I reuse it?
3) Would a genuine LR sprocket be made to tighter tolerences / better quality?
Thanks

Well I've already got a new timing chain and lower sprocket/gear. Those are fine. Its just the upper/larger one that I need. Again, time is of the essence here. :)

I'm sorry you got one of those, I got three of them.

If you have a die grinder, it's pretty easy to take a tiny bit off the ID and the key.

AllMakes has been informed and they are pulling them off the shelf.

Actually I got two like that. This is one of those parts I duplicate ordered. I tried filing down the key slightly and then VERY gently trying to tap it onto the old camshaft with a rubber mallet. It wound up in 3 pieces. I don't really feel comfortable grinding on a crucial parts like that. I'm going to go a different route than the AllMakes one.

Get a genuine one. They aren't that expensive. The all makes sprocket I had was not only in need of filing but once on the cam it wasn't true. It had a wobble. My allmakes cam worked out fine. have about 30K on it.
