My headliner is sagging in several places on my DII. What is the going rate to have the headliner redone? I'd like to get a general idea before I start calling around.

The quote the insurance co. gave me for the damage the the DEALER DID DO, despite their claim that they did not, even though I have witnesses and they............well the cost was about $350.00.

Sorry for the rant........

Option 1 - You buy the material and do it yourself, it might cost you $12-15 for material (3yds of 64" wide material) plus $5 for adhesiveglue

Option 2 - You do the removal/install and have some re-do the material i might cost you $120-150.

Option 3 - You drop your truck off and have someone do the entire job, it might cost you $250-300.

Choose your poison.

My choice was option 1

How much time for Option 1? A weekend job or just a Saturday job?

Why did you replace the fabric? Is that because you can not "reglue" it or just to improve it?
Mine is sagging, not too bad for now, but I'm sure this is a job that I'll have to do in the next year or so since this is becoming worst much worst since the beginning of the year.

A buddy of mine took the old fabric to a paint shop and had them match the color. Then he cleaned all the old material and foam off and just painted the headliner. He used an egg shell finish paint. In my opinion it looks great!!! and it is VERY easy to clean off grease and stuff. I am about to do mine i think!

Time wise, everything is relative to your experience. I see no reason why option 1 can't be done in on a Saturday. Be fore warned, the Disco headliner is highly contoured and one of the most challenging headliners to replace compared to other makes/models.

Yes the fabric is not intended to be re-glued. Once the fabric starts to sag, it's actually the fabric that has seperated from its foam backing.

Thanks for the replies. I was guessing $150 to $200 but the concensus seems to be $200 or up. Maybe I will take it out myself to save some money and then take it to a shop. I think I would feel better letting someone who knows what they are doing fix it.

take it out, pull the fabric off and rhino line the shell....dirt cheap, cleanable, tough and good looking in black!

do some searching....there is a pic of mine posted and some others who have done the same or similar.

enjoy!

I need to do this too but mine is a se7 with rear air.

2 questions;

Is the roof noticeably hotter with rhino liner vs. the headliner

Has anyone used any stick on insulation and then rhino liner to protect from heat?

Thanks,

Ross

I'm in the same boat. Mine's falling down all over the place, and I'm trying to fidn the best option.
In the mean time, I'm using spray adhesive every other weekend to keep the liner out of my field of vision when driving.
Candiman, I have seen your pictures many times, and find them inspiring. I may just give it a shot myself. Did you re use the sun roof trim pieces?

$150, removed it myself, upon completion reinstalled it in the upolsterer's parking lot.

leaving it out was nice, especially banging on the roof while listening to CCR

quite noisy on the h-way without it, glad i got it back in, miss banging on roof though
