I recently ordered a rear step for my 97 disco and was wondering what it connects to and exactly how it is installed. any help would be appreciated, thanks!
If your are referring to a stock retractable rear step it mounts to the left side frame. The hole should already be there but I do not know if the brackets will be.
Should not be a difficult install, just take you time and read the instructuions.
rear step and a rear AC is not a good combination.
the rear A/C drain line drips on the resonator rusts a hole in it .The hole in the Resonator then heats the pivot bolt that the step swings on. the other end of the bolt then melts a hole in the rear drivers side corner of the fuel tank causing it to leak.
when it happened to mine and I talked to the a parts guy at the dealer I found out that it was enough of a problem that they rover was aware of it.
well i messed around with it and got on....i think correctly. thanks for your guys' input. and for the rear ac issue, i dont have to worry about b/c i dont have rear ac, but thanks for the info.
