Quick LT230 swap question

I did the search, but didn't see this particular issue addressed. I'm putting the LT230 from an '88 RRC into my '92 RRC. I have seen comments about e-brake issues, but they all seem related to using the Disco e-brake in an RRC.

I have the e-brake from the '88 and the one from my '92. I do not have a brake cable from the '88.

Will the '88 brake work with my '92 cable, or should I swap the '92 brake to the LT230, or?

The early RRC E-brakes were mechanical and not cable operated. If yours is mechanical, it likely won't work directly, but it might be worth a try to see if you can swap the actuating parts.

Re-reading your post, I'd swap the actuating parts to the LT-230. The backing plate from the B-W transfer case can be made to work, but the bolt holes don't match-IIRC.

I also plan on swapping in an 88' LT into a 95 RRC, picked it cheap with the linkage, driveshafts, mounting brackets. Found this post with a good picture of the backing plate mod of the borgwarner case courtesy of Serious One, http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=540878 , How did your swap work out Velocewest, also anything else I should be aware of?
