The Great Pee Dee heritage near Darlington, SC has public land to hunt on. It opens for two weeks in Feb. and has a good poulation of hogs. I mostly bow hunt em' and you can stalk them pretty easy if you are patient and watch the wind. I have also used a .44 lever gun in there because its pretty thick and you won't get a lot of long shots. Its on the Dead river and it is basically a swamp so take a compass and some good boots and you will have a good time.

Sharing? You can hardly shut me up about it! Your welcome though. It was so much fun were going back this year to Namibia. My professional hunter used a Toyota  was hoping for an old series to ride around in. Those Land Cruiser diesel pickups are pretty badass though.

To Namibia for mixed plains game, some of the species not found in RSA, hartmans mountain zebra, kalahari springbok, damaraland dik-dik. There is a possibility of problem (cow eating) lions in the area and if you're lucky one gets declared while your around and you can track him.

The side by side was my PH's gun, it looked better for the photo, I used a borrowed winchester pump. I'm pretty sure it was spanish but don't know the maker. Here are a couple of shots of the Whale'em, its a custom FN mauser supreme, dakota 3 position safety, rust blue, fiberglass stock and a Leupold 1.5-5X Vari-X III.

At 400 lbs I'd rather take him with one .270 round between the eyes at 150 yards

Now there is something you will NEVER see on my wall. LOL. Thats one mean look.

I had a few smaller ones run over the tent while camping out in CA one time. Thank god for a couple big dogs otherwise I may have had quite an issue getting to the rig. Never kept a gun handy back then. I was pretty amazed that they did't really want to mess with the dogs, thank god.
