Parts for Legacy Rovers NLA?

When Ford bought Rover, did they stop producing OEM replacement parts for legacy models? I heard a claim that a guy with a '93 RR was forced to buy a first-half MY1993 (with bad transmission) to get enough parts to fix-up his truck all because Ford no longer makes the parts. True or false?

How far back can one go and still expect to be able to rely on availability of parts?

Actually- parts availability will be better than it has been before- I had a long discussion with DAP about it, they've been supporting "obsolete" Rovers for almost 30 years and apparently are stocking up to support the dealers a lot more since the dealer's parts supply dried up. I just got some parts for my 72 Rangie and was surprised how easy/relatively cheap it was.

If you read LRO magazine they have a full color/ full page ad about the recently launched Land Rover Classic Parts Service. It states that it is specifically for the Classic RR and the Series I Disco. I spoke to someone at Land Rover Las Vegas and he had no idea of what I was talking about giving me the answer that "we have always carried parts for the RRC and the Series I Disco". However if you go to Rovers North website up at the top of the main page you will see the logo for the New Land Rover Classic Parts service. This may be what you are looking for.

As always, there will be lots of other sources... at less than L.R. dealer pricing. Rovers North will probably use this whole thing as an excuse to raise prices again and again.
Many parts sources are also creating "House" brands to give a new, fake brand name to poorly made generic parts from various countries. Be more careful than ever-
I always stick with stuff from either OEM manufacturers or known-better ones. Be very careful with house-brand stuff or really cheap stuff.
