p0125 & PROM

I've done an extensive search related to the p0125 code and the '96 disco but all the threads are a couple or years old. The check engine light on my '96 SD comes on intermittently every few months. Some days its on, some days it stays off. If I take it to the dealer they seem to replace the O2 sensors, thermostat and then clear the code, only to have it come on again in a few months.
I've heard the only solution is to get a new PROM (from a '97-'99 Disco), but that was a while ago in some older posts. Is there any solution to this issue and how do I know for sure that it's the PROM that needs updating and not an actual O2 sensor or thermostat that needs replacing. The only code I get is the p0125...
Thanks in advance if anyone can help :D

No to bring up and older post, but anything new on this?

Ive got the same issue and I also was wondering what the best fix is: get a prom from a 97+ or get one from Rovers North. I noticed there are several PROMs out there. Rovers North has one (part # PRM9637) which is different from older posts.

Ideas?
