I'm slowly rebuilding a 4.6 and am now to the oil pump. It's measurements are within spec, but it seems pretty scored. The scoring is not deep but it's not smooth either. The housing looks fine (very, very light scoring only in a couple small areas. Does this look OK to throw back in or should I source some new gears?

The photos are probably too hard for someone to make a judgment call, but maybe I'll just go ahead and get new oil pump gears to play it safe.

I would replace those...they do look pretty scored to me...even if not that bad, I'd rplace oil pump rotors any time an engines apart.

Completely up to you. Bear in mind the pump rotors you buy are not OE - at least they are definately not made by the same company as the original pump... The finish is also not exactly 'great' and mine was ever so slightly tight (on thickness). It was easy to bring down to size however with a large stone - easy because the machining grooves in the faces were a lot larger than I would have expected...

By all means get one - but so long as you know what you're getting.
