Hi!

When swapping my tyres i discovere a minor oli leak on rear axel!

Oil is coming out between hubb-assy and axelcasing. Acording to RAVE there is an O-ring between axel and hubb.-assy!

is it O-ring that have failed or is it the wheel bearing? Anyone have similiar experience?

cheers

Sorry to say, but it's probably your hub thats leaking. Does the leak look like a thick, black paste? If so, you'll probably need to replace the hub. When I replaced mine, you had to buy a new ABS sensor too (they came together). I'm not sure, but I think someone said you can buy just the hub now. I paid about $500 for the hub and sensor a year or so ago. It's a job you can do yourself if you want to. I took some pics when I replaced mine. PM me and I'll send them to you if you want. Also, if you order the hub, go ahead and order the "O" ring you mentioned in your post just in case you lose or tear the orginal O ring.

Hi!

yes it looks like thik black oil, not dripping but it comes out!
OK, my disco have done 169 000miles now, so no wonder! I replaced right front last year!
How serious is this? i mean, hub dont feel worn, or "loose". can i still use my car untill i get parts to replace it? I should have extra good lubrication now! ;)

when i replaced front hub it was apin-ine-the-*** to get driveshaft loos from hub! any good tips&triks to get this done easy? some neat tools to use?

Thanks
