Lockup and all shifts are hydraulic on the D1. I would suspect a hung valve or maybe the clutch is wiped out. If there is actually a problem...
Is this the first time you noticed the RPM around 2500?? I think mine hangs around there at highway speeds even with the 33" tires. Everything with my trans functions properly. It may be lower, but I'll have to check next time I drive my truck.

Lockup should occur around 52mph indicated. It is a noticable drop in RPM. Once in lockup, a light press on the gas pedal does not change the tach reading. If lockup were not occuring, there would be an immediate rise in rpm corresponding to pedal position.
When mine refused to lockup any longer, it was the converter.

yeah at 52 mph ..it's not locking up at all .when it it did it it was very noticable ..when my foot comes off the gas the rpms drop right away ..allways feels like it's pulling....might be time to give will a call for a tranny.or a converter.:banghead:
