Since it's a used truck, they're all individuals, and should not really be taken as a class. A good 01 with maintenance records might easily trump a higher mileage 04 on their fourth owner. It's all relative.

Shop hard and buy the best individual truck. If you aren't going to wheel it, some issues don't pertain to your decision. The advice to buy young and do your own stuff, or have it done to your satisfaction, is excellent.

Not an American car but was at a dealer today(non LR) and was told Toyota had to replace 3 million engines in various vehichles. Didn't ask why cause I don't own a Toyota but thought it was a interesting tid bit. It could be BS though

how many more toyotas do you see on a daily basis versus Land Rovers? Land Rovers are junk but I love them.

Ok, so are there any major mechanicle changes between an 02 and an 03? I'll still need a drive shaft, watch the head gaskets, ect. with the 02 right. I guess I'm trying to figure out if the research I've done for the 03-04 will also apply to earlier D2s.

Thanks guys
