front passenger side was throwing P0150 and P0174. had it replaced, track ran perfect, really good actually. Sitting at stoplight, truck starts shuddering and making stinky exhaust, low and behold, CEL on...

pull codes, same ones, on brand new sensor, and only 20 miles on it....

what should I be looking at???

any help at all will be great as I am not made of money, and cant spend a lot with trial error!!

Were they Bosch sensors?

I went through same problem swapping out 4 different bosch sensors from all the local autoparts stores. Went through checking all the wires connectors making sure everything was clean and no shorting. In the end I ordered sensors from AB and it's been running perfect since. The Bosch sensors I was getting would last about 30-40 miles before throwing codes and running rough again.

When I first got my disco I was getting o2 codes pretty frequently, as it turned out the connectors on both front sensors weren't tight, and the sensors were going in and out.

thanks guys!!

yea, you know, the connectors where cleaned, however, they were COATED as I previously had a valley pan leak, so maybe they need a hard core clean...

also, interesting on the Bosch failures, this is INDEED a Bosch....

taking it in tomorrow

bust is there a way to check the harness to make sure nothing is wrong with it??

I replaced my factory O2 sensors with ones from BRITPART. I did this because I replaced the converters and it seemed like a good Idea. The BRITPART sensors all failed one at a time over the course of a few weeks. I installed the old sensors into my new converters and got a refund on the 4 crappy sensors. Don't buy the cheap sensors. If I decide to replace mine again I will get NTK from the local parts store or the OE from the dealer. I will never buy the $65 sensors again.

You can check the resistance in the harness to make sure there aren't any shorts...I've seen several posts on here where it's talked about. I just made sure mine was clean connection cleaned visually inspected harness as good as I could, and ordered the AB sensors. When you do install any new sensors on these you have to make sure when you plug them back in you get a positive "click". If you don't get the click the plug is damaged or you don't have it plugged all the way in.

Take your Bosch sensors back...demand a refund and order the right ones from AB. Put your old ones back in if you have to drive it if you are putting around town back and forth to work you should be ok, just don't make any long trips w/o good sensors.

Update AB sensors went out today, well one on the way up to Montgomery AL and other crapped today...I've purchased some Bosch sensors against my better judgement and my previous posts hoping they'll get me by until I order some NGK sensors. One bosch sensor in and seems ok so far, the other should get here tomorrow. I'm only purchasing with the hopes they'll hold up for a bit to get me back to FL. I've also taken Chris's advice about not getting them too tight. I guess some TSB out describing cracking of the housing or something causing issues.

We'll see.

Hmm. there si a small problem regarding NGK-NTK sensors, at least for us europeans.. teh part #s aren't the same so we get, you know, a little bit crazy. I will have to begin the research before mines fail.

Thanks for the input regarding Britpart and Boschs, 'cause they were the ones I was going to order.

Best regards

Robert

Bosch sensors are still ok with 300 miles on them....maybe the ones I was getting last time I went around with this was a bad lot of them? They've lasted longer than last time LOL.
