about to head out of town for the weekend, but I read your other thread...

You said you have spark but no fuel so your problem is somewhere between the ignition module and your ecm. Since the fuel pump turns on for 2 seconds when the ingition switched on there is nothing wrong with your ecm, it is wiring or that msd igniton box setup. Don't mess w/ the msd box for now, use the stock rover ignition and see if you still get spark. Also use the stock coil.

If you have access to an osciliscope (and a rough idea of how to use one) it makes diagnosing ignition problems much easier.

hey robert
I got a hei ignition mod, it is the 4 pin. The msd disributer has to wires comming out of it one purple and the other green. The moduel says the letters B & C and the other side of the mod says W & G. where do the distributer wires go. I also have the harness that came from the ign mod to the coil (to the pos & neg terminals), i dont know what side to the hei mod the wires go to. :banghead:
I greatly appreciate the help i hope soon i can drive my truck.

Im goinig to leave it stock till i hear from u or someone else who knows how to hook up the msd to the rover.:victory:

Robert, Sent you a PM about breaking in the MSD drive gear. Curious as to what you did.

Sorry for reviving an old thread. I'm looking at using the MSD 8548 distributor for a '93 3.9 with the distributor driven oil pump. Has anyone done this swap? Do you know if the drive gears can just be swapped over, or is it more complicated than that?
Thanks!
