I still have contact with the LR dealer in Sao Paulo, Brasil and received an e-mail showing the pricing for the new 110. See pic.

At today's exchange rate and without any taxes, etc., the price is now about $83,700.00.

This is incredible and shows what a poor decision it was to close the plant as now all 110s are imported which means a 100% import tax is imposed.

When I lived there, they were about $39,000 out the door.

Don't be surprised to see Land Rover production in the US. The dollar devaluation will have to be dealt with.

I also think Tata will have to address the impact of asset devaluation and the impact of China entering the US market. LR and Jag under PAG were moving far up market. Too far if you ask me. How will LR drop the pricing? By reducing manufacturing cost? Moving production? Offering product that reduce the features?

Bring back more basic models?

you can buy 4 2004 D2s, or own a RR Sport pre owned and a d2 for that coin

China entering the us Market? I cant imagine how long it will be before that will impact LR. By that time the US dollar could be back on top.

possibly in the US, however, all those were also imported to Brasil so got hit with the tax as well.

a RR Sport used goes for about $125k in Sao Paulo.

the whole concept of manufacturing in Brasil was to avoid the import tax.

the plant also provided vehicles to other parts of S.A. as well.
