Need help with wheel seal

Hi guys I just need to know what kind of seal do I need for this job is the passenger side rear wheel it seems like the differencial oil is mixing with the bearing grease and coming out as I drive ,was looking in roversnorth but didn't know what kit to choose ,thanks for the help ...by the way since Im putting new dif oil what a good brand ? synthetic or not?

HI Cris,
On the rear is should by the inner hub seal. There is only one seal in the rear on ABS equipped RRC's IIRC.

The seal is an RTC3511, shipping will be much less from Atlantic British.

I search RTC3511 and shows front hub ,is it the same as rear like I need ..I found it for $16 at roversnorth , how ever they have the kit http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-5565-hub-seal-kit-range-rover-classic-defender-discovery-i.aspx for $7 , is this kit what I need? Thanks

There are a handful of part umbers that will work, FTC 4785 is another common one, but the RTC 3511 is probably the best one as it has a lip to indicate when it's installed far enough.

The drive flange gasket is a p/n 571752 and the lock tab might be able to be reused, but its part number is FTC 3179.

Thanks for the info ...so if I wanted to go with that kit that I linked from my previous post is ok and not bad for $7.90 I got everything right??

PT or someone else might have a better tip or trick, but I've been successfully seating the hub seal using Bill Burke's trick using a 3" threaded plastic sewer plug to set the seal. It seems to do a pretty good job getting it the appropriate 4mm below the hub face.

I have a piece of 4" PVC that has been turned down with a lip on the inside to indicate the seal and a ridge on the OD to allow for no more than 4 m/m insertion depth.

I prefer the RTC 3511 as it's stupid-proof.

x2. I thought the seals that allowed the mixing of the gear oil/bearings were preferred?
