My first hunt

Well I have never been hunting before, but have always been an avid shooter. I don't own many firearms ( 2 actually ) and neither are what I would considering a 'hunting' firearm. Well a friend of mine has mentioned that a friend of his who owns about 600 acres out here in southern AZ has recently had an influx of feral pigs. Apparently a number of years ago they weeded out about 200 of these chaps. Anyhow, the pigs are back and within a month or so we will be heading out to see if we can't take a few home. I don't really have a specific question, but I'm a bit excited about it. Only thing I feel that it's a little weird how I'll be out there with my AR-15 hunting some pigs

Nothing wrong with using the AR-15 for pigs.

Mmmm wild boar...The same as using a .223 or 5.56mm. I have friends that hunt with bolt action rifles that use that round.
