Hey guys, just wanted to get your thoughts on MAR this year. I just got back, was my first one. Def a good experience, just a bit dry this year, so even the difficult trails that seemed fairly easy for the most part would def be more challenging when wet. Also seemed like there were a ton of Defenders with VA plates on them.

Wow that was dry! My truck covered in dust still from the site! It was a lot of fun though and great to be able to put names to faces. One thing I did learn this weekend was ARB bumpers suck (Mine hit everything)! And that 3 in. of lift is the new standard. Thanks Justin for letting me roll in your disco for a little bit!

Just got back. It was super dusty out there, which sucked. If we had 1 inch of rain, it would've helped, and made things much more interesting. :)

I did find some mud, though... The east river and west river trails both had copious amounts at the ends.

It was a much more 'mellow' MAR for me. I spent a lot of time hanging out and chatting and less time running trails, but it was still lots of fun!

Hehe... good seeing you Walter.

You can use that word during your next scrabble tournament... maybe get a triple word score!

I am surprised more parts vendors didnt set up, but it was good to see some friends again and meet some folks from here in person.

We def had fun-rather dry though (dust is all over the inside of the truck). I'd have to concur with Tommy's copious characterization-but that's b/c we were stuck in the same spots at the same time.

Many thanks to Tommy, James, Eric, Neil & their families for letting us hang out-as well as everyone else we met while there.

I'm just glad we got home none the worse for wear-especially after 30 min into the trip down the upper radiator hose had a leak!

What a difference from last year! We went from cold and wet - hot and dry.

Had a great time and nice meeting some new folks. I will be posting some pictures in the next day or so.

Besides getting my truck hauled away on a flat-bed I had a blast.
Good to meet you guys; definitely a downer when your truck goes home on a roll back! Sorry about your diffs hamsquatch...That happened to me at my first MAR-2001 I think. Very dry like this year, we ran trails 'till 1:00 on Sunday and then my fuel pump died! Nobody left that had one!

Our final attendance number was approx. 300 Land Rovers +/- a few!

Not 100% sure yet. Lost power to all 4 wheels. Props turn but no go. Putting it in park is the same as having it in neutral. Parking break does not work anymore. Hard to beleive that I'd break both diffs/axles at the same time...but it was MAR. It's sitting in the parking lot of Land Rover Richmond at present.

Fun times.

Thanks nomar, same here. I had hoped to connect with more folks than I did. I'll let you folks know how it turns out.

When you get it going, bring it up our way to test it. Good to meet you and Big Red on the trail.

Had a blast, other than the dust. I spent an hour this afternoon with my shop vac, using the blower function. It might have been faster if I'd had the blow up sheep from the PR tent.:D

"I'm, playin' nut!" Rovercanus, enjoyed it. Actually, after having Nomar as my bartender I was enjoying a lot that night. I'll make apoint of getting up with you sometime soon.... Ran into Will Tillery as well. With my problems that's good karma.

Sky - transfer case, yeah I thought about that but it was sending power to both props. We saw them spinning when I put it in gear. I'm no expert on any of this. Will let you folks know what the Dr. says tomorrow.

And Will Tillery repaired many vehicles in between our late night trail rides, food, and sleep!
Too bad we got held up behind those North Carolina guys...;)

Will also donated parts to our Saturday night auction!:victory:

Thanks also to Axel for donating DiscoWeb DVDs to the auction! :victory:
