To those of you who have LR Adventure racks, and have removed them, do the lips on your rain gutters look like shit where the rack was attached? Trying to figure out of that was normal or if the Hulk installed my rack at the dealer.

Thanks

When you say lips, are you referring to the plastic covering on the gutters or the actually metal lip? As stated above, the plastic covering can be purchased from the dealer for fairly cheap ~$20-40.

Thanks guys. Good to know. I figured that was the case, just had never removed the rack before. Glad to know the trim pieces can be replaced cheap if I ever decide to leave the rack off for good.

Talking about taking off the rack temporarily... I was outside looking at my truck today and wondered if i should take off the rack to increase my gas mileage.. hah

Honestly that is part of my plan. I've been meaning to take it completely off all summer so I can deal with some rust areas. Several months ago I just started the removel, saw the screwed up trim pieces, and decided to wait. I figured now with gas prices quite high it would be a good time to take it off for a few weeks to fix...and see is gas mileage improves any. I've always been curious about that.

keep us updated on the gas mileage.. I've heard it helps a good amount.. i'm getting ridicously low gas mileage right now between bigger tires, the rack, and a winch..

Yup.
Same here.
Will be interesting to see if gas prices continue to rise today & over the weekend.
I may be takin' the bus for awhile so I can still afford to go wheelin'
