Kayaks on Disco SD Rack?

A buddy and I bought some 14' kayaks and I wanted to see how other people are carrying their kayaks.
We just bought some foam blocks and strap the boats down to the rack.

With a 2" lift it's a little annoying for me to try and get it up there. I haven't bought a step stool yet, but thinking about it.

Any pictures of other's setup would be cool.

I do the exact same thing. It works great, but it is tough to get it up there.

I use the Thule mounts with the slide pads on the rear and the cradle in the front. It's a 16.5' and it's not bad at all to get on and off. Maybe it's the length.

I was going to suggest pretty much what Steve says -- I'm thinking you might figure a way to use rollers on the back rail of the SD. I've put kayaks up there with the pads, but it isn't something I'd want to do often without the slide pads or rollers.

Yeah, I was watching the video of the Hully Rollers.. I really like that set up with the pads on the front part.
They are pricey though. Apprx. $170 per boat...
