Just replaced my expired 1998 DI with a 2001 DII. Blk/tan SE, 40,454mi. 2"-2 1/2" lift, steel wheels, 265x75 MTRs and very very clean (won't that be a change for me) . Going to transfer my rack and sliders (both DII) , PC mount etc. over the weekend. Haven't verified the CDL nipple is on the Tcase yet but I am pretty sure it's there (04-01 build).
Misc DI parts will become availabe after I've sorted out what I can/can not use.

What happened to the DI?

That's a great question. I have a pair of 96's that are nowhere near expiration. Hopefully it was hit and not ignored.

Blown head gasket, slipping trans, bad CV and miltiple other problems. Bottom line just not worth repairing, not with the deal I got on the 01.
Not sure yet what I'm going to do with DI yet. Probably donate or salvage yard it after I parted out what ever is not needed on the DII

PS It does have the CDL nipple so the DI CDL linkage willl not be available for sale.

Some would argue that going to a D-II is not an upgrade.:)

Having personally seen and wheeled w/ Frank's DI(very noisy and thirsty for coolant DI), I believe most of us in Chicagoland would say it is a well deserved upgrade! :D

Well said Eric, the DI was mechanicly just too far gone, not to mention after 4 years of my off road driving style it was also in need of some major body repair. Guess I'm going to have pay more attention to the trees, rock and bushes. As least for the first couple of years.
More on what parts will be available later.
