I am almost 100% sure this is a broken motor mount, but i want to get comfirmation. Please look at the pics and see what you think. I have also had a strange noise when i turn to the right and i have found that it was my driveshaft hitting my cats. I assume that the engine has shifted due to the broken mount and is causing this....am I right?

just get the stock ones...as for your cat, once you change the motor mounts you should be fine...

If you're going to pay 50 plus for stock ones just pay the extra for the HD from Justin.

I love the QT HD Motor mounts(Thanks Justin) btw...this is a great upgrade which totally prevents what happened in the pic above from happening to you on the trail.

Not bashin the QT ones, but for $210.00, Thats a little pricy when the stock ones are $37.00 each...if you check your mounts when change your oil, you'll see them start to crack and change them before they break...

x3 on the driveshaft and ujoints...

Statements like this make me nervous.

I just put in the $30 DAP mounts and so far they're fine.

You mean a motor mount for a d1? d2 mounts are way different..

Don't be nervous if you havent actually held the two in your hand:

Look at the design of the stock rubber mounts that are glued 'bonded" to the backing plates. Yes glue retains your v8 motor. The QT is a different design: not rubber sandwiched between 2 plates, total failure will not cost u a radiator.

On QT when and if the rubber portion fails or even gets so hot it melts, the motor is 100% 'retained' via the design, its hard to explain without comparing the two side by side, the QT uses a 13/16 bolt that goes thru the rubber and passes thru the 3"x3" aluminum block which bolts to the frame.

When the OE mounts fail the motor can flop around all over the engine bay. With even failed QT mounts, there is a finite limit to how much flop there can be.

Worth my money, safety, peace of mind, I wont have to change those again, ever, and when and if I do, its a BREEEZE. My issue was a buggered bolt that required removal of my exhaust manifold. the QT design is superior and will never make me do that again.

Worth my money, safety, peace of mind,

I can't speak for the DIIs, but I broke 4 motor mounts in the RRC in less than 20 months.
I then put in QT mounts. Those things are bomb-proof!

I just failed a motor and transmission mount today. I canged all four mounts just a few months ago. The tired orginals cost me a radiator, these broken "new" ones only cost me a lower radiator hose (good thing I carry a spare!). I'm going Heavy Duty this time.

What they said on the QTs. UNLESS you like changing DII motor mounts. I went through 2 or 3 pair of stockers before I pulled the trigger. Yeah, they are not cheap, but ask youself, how do you want to spend your time? Wheeling or changing motor mounts?
