Looks like a SD from this picture but I have heard of lower-quality replicas. Photo is not that great. I emailed the seller with questions and request for close-up photos.

If I go look at this in person are there any special things to look for that would positively identify it as a SD? Mounting hardware, stamp, etc. I suppose I could take a few photos myself and post them up for the wise minds of Dweb to analyze.

Photo attached in case the ad expires.

the way it bends over the windshield looks like the complicated SD style bends, most, if not every. knock off ive seen cheats with the feet clamps like danny said and the bends over the windshield.

Get a better picture of the clamps.

Specifically the bumps where the clamps cover the tubing.

The clamps should not be straight, they should have a bump right in the middle where the Allen bolt comes up vertical from the bottom.

If it's got that, chances are you've got the real thing.

As far as a "cheap knock off".....so what?

Just don't pay for it as if it's an SD rack but, still buy it.

I had a girl try to sell me an NWP rack thinking it was an SD rack. She told me it was perfect so I told her I would give her $600 for it sight unseen.

When I got to see it, I noticed the clamps, shape, style difference and then a big fat NWP sticker on the back. I promptly filled her in on what it was and only took half of the cash I had brought out of my pocket and said this is the best I can do.

She walked away with $300 and I walked away with a new NWP rack....

Now don't get me wrong, I didn't keep it for any more than 48 hours but, It was a rack for $300 nonetheless.

Hey, 48 hours is good for you.

Next time you have a sub $500 D1 rack, let me know.

I am seriously contemplating an offer...but, haven't made any moves yet.

Im trying to decide on lights.

I thought I had those 4000's for sure but, turned out Jonathan had my money burning in his pocket.

I don't know if I could have made the 4000's work anyways.

I really want that hannibal. But with this XD, I kinda want to hold out for a low rack and go all original.

Dude, you're contemplating an offer? You know I should have right of first refusal!

The thing is with the offer I am contemplating, it's a once in a rovers lifetime type offer.

With the rack I have, you keep it forever.

With the rack I'm contemplating getting, you put it in the house and treat it like part of the family.
