but it's the upper that will cost you an arm and leg, or at least the last time I looked into building one that was the case.

I was interested in a G3, but a friend of mine said that the action dents/punctures/destroys the spent case when it gets thrown out. I.E. cannot reload the brass.

So, no bueno for a simple plinking gun.

That is about the going price for G3 lowers. Robert @ RTG has had them at that price for years. You do have to clip/pin these to fit them to a non-FA receiver though - they will only fit to a full auto action as is.

G3's are an expensive build if you don't have equipment to do yourself - must weld in thetrunion, press the bbl intp teh trunion, get cokcing tube perfect, etc. They are not a build for a tinkerer. Fun though when they are built right!

The fluted chamber + somewhat violent extraction does tear up brass. You might get 20% that ends up reloadable...........
