Need some help/tech info for my 01 SLK 320. Lately, the vehicle will crank, but not start, when its hot. How hot? Varies. Its a random and intermitent (sp?) fault. Fuel filter changed, but has not helped. Local dealer wants $175 just to look at the vehicle. New fuel pump is just under $400 for the part. SO, before I start throwing more $ at this, I was hoping that someone with first hand experience could give some input. Like, yeah, common problem with this model or probably not the pump, check ______ first,ect. Any SLK owner or Mercedes techs on the board? Any know of any Dweb like boards for Merceds? I searched, but could only find boards more dedicated to older Mercedes models. Thanks.
