i am following the tech section and it states that i should be able to refill approx 8 quarts however i can only get about 5 to 5.5 in before it starts pouring back out. I had my father shift through the gears three times while i was underneath filling, but it wont take anymore. I drained approx 8 quarts out.

Ideas???

yup it was...i took it for a short drive to make sure it was good and warm and upon return it took another quart, maybe quart and a half, but in my mind i am still short about 2 quarts.

the grand total of new oil back in is now between 6 and 7 quarts.

You need to be perfectly level. Which I'm sure you know. Warmed up in park fill till dribbles out. Then your okay. Automatic don't like to be overfilled. They'd rather be a little low than overfilled.

you are supposed to fill at under 104* IIRC.

I always idled and filled until it was warm to the touch, capped it and rolled it... dont overfill, not a good thing.

sounds normal

I can only get a out 4.5 to 5 quarts back in. i never actually measured how much came out. Just filled up until it seeped out of the fill hole after truck was started and all the gears run through with the brake pedal depressed. No problems.

this is for a DII.

This is amazing timing. I just drained mine yesterday and had the same issue. I was expecting to add two more quarts when the funnel overflowed all over the driveway.
I plan to check after driving today and will keep the fluid that I was going to return.
Thanks.
