My drivers' side seat just gave out on my 96 D1 and I have found the culprit, but have no idea what the part is called or where to find a replacement without spending $400 for a brand new seat. Under the cushion is this mesh/rubber contraption that hooks onto the underside of either side of the seat supporting the foam cushion and prevents the cushion from sinking in. It has torn in two. I have attached a pic...

Anyone have any idea where I can find this part? Thank you!!

At your mom's
Rover1 - Post up any results you get!!

I've got the same failure. Not a priority since a throw pillow on the seat has been getting me by.

I, too, am curious as to the proper solution.

Soakers, Low Rider.

I just sewed mine back together with small nylon cord and a sail needle.

Roger that. Get yourself some 550 parachute cord (can find at most outdoor supply stores) and take the cover off the cord. there is some pretty good bullet proof cords inside the cover. Survival school at it's finest!

Cheers,

The 550 cord is some great stuff. I've always laced my hiking/outdoor boots with it too. There is so many uses for it and having it in your boots is like carrying part of your survival gear with you at all times.

Cheers,
