Headlight problems D1

Went to turn on my headlights last night and high beam lights will not stay on; when I click the stalk headlights switch to the parking lights; if I hit the stalk again the low beams come back on. My truck is a '95 so the parking lights are built into the headlights. If I hold the stalk towards me both high beam lights work but stalk will not stay in that position. Any ideas? Thanks

It sounds like the behavour of the headlights when the low beams aren't on.

I'm not certain of this, but I get the impression that there is a latching relay that only latches when the low beam lights are on.

It could be as simple as the talk needs replacement.

Maybe the following circuit diagrams will help.
