Head studs rather than head bolts?

I can confirm they are the same for all rover v8's - right upto and including 2004. Just ask for Buick 215 and you get the correct ones.

BMW has always used stretch bolts. Same with VW. I assume you agree BMW is a performance engine. BMW had no problems with stretch bolts on the older cast iron blocks, but have had problems with the M62 aluminum V8 blocks. Not common but when pulling heads the threads are flubbered. The real story is that not many M62 blocks are rebuildable mostly a one use engine.

I hope that using studs fixes your headgasket issues. I still believe the head gasket problems on D2s is a cooling system design issue.
