I have been reading some stories on a few other boards. I find it interesting that a few people have had similar experiences.

I have had a few weird things happen that can't be explained.
Most of them can be classified as hallucinations since I was the only one to see them.
Like after my grandfather died. When I was young, I would see him watching me from time to time.

Being adventurous I was always up for exploring so one day I drag a few friends and my ouija board to a abandoned house. Now they could have been playing a trick on me but they were more scared than I was and they didn't know where we were going before hand so they never had a chance to tell anyone to be waiting on us.
The Ouija board just spelled out "danger" so thinking they are messing with me I gave up and took a walk through the house with them right behind me, as we went upstairs a very tall banshee like figure walked out of one room down the hall a few feet and into another room.
For some reason I followed only to find a empty room, as soon as I walked in a terrible howling started coming from the chimney. It sounded like something in terrible pain, so against their advise I looked in the chimney expecting to see a raccoon or something that had got trapped, instead I see just blue sky.
At that point they are running for the door and I'm right behind them. We left the Ouija and never went back and we won't touch a Ouija board ever again. Now all three of us saw and heard it so I can be sure it wasn't in my head.

The next story is a old plantation house where we used to go to drink, I saw some weird things there on a few nights but just chocked it up to the beer.
Until one night I went with my girlfriend and another couple. They got out first then jumped back in the car a few seconds later screaming there is a ghost.
I flip On my headlights to see a old woman dressed in rags about 25 feet in front of the car. She walked over to the well and vanished. Much to their protest I grabbed the maglight and ran to the well. Well there was no other place to go the well was dry and in a large clearing. I would go back every now and then until they tore it down but never saw her again.

Now my stories are pretty lame compared to some I have read. I'm curious to see what stories Dweb can tell.
Now try and keep them truthfull and no drunk or acid trip stories

Mine sucks compared to yours...

Driving one night alone, late, going to my grandparent's in the woods. It was a 3 hour drive. It's a high pine forest, and the last 10 miles or so are on long straight tracks of two lane highways. It was pretty dark. At the end of the trip you turn right off the highway, drive about 50 yards, then make another right into a small community of cabins in the woods. My grandparents had lived there for maybe 20 years, so you can imagine, this isn't a resort town.

Anyway, about 10 miles before the first turn, I'm pretty much the only car on the road going my direction. I pass another car going the other direction every minute or so. At some point, this car appears behind me, way back. He's got his brights on, so I can see him about a mile or so back. He slowly catches up to me. Brights still on. During the last two or three miles the guy is pretty much right on my tail, not way too close, but close, brights still on. I just remember being very annoyed because you know how it is when you are out there totally alone and you can see real good except for when someone is behind you, then you are sitting sideways to avoid the direct reflections in the mirrors.

I take the first turn off the highway, and he turns as well, still right on me. At this point I realize there could be something going on here, like a cop, or some mad-man zombie killer, maybe both. But the thought is fleeting as I make the second right...

Look back. He's gone. No lights, no tail lights, no car. I stop, now on a completely lightless forest service dirt road. I'm the only one there. I can't explain it. All I know is the car was following me for 15-20 minutes. Right on me for the last 1-3 minutes. Then is gone in an instant -- no other place for him to go, no other turn he could have made. Just gone.

I've also seen a UFO -- most likely ball lightening, but I can't say for sure, all I know is I actually saw something.

I've seen other things too, but they aren't for sharing on the internet, and they are explainable.

In he late 90's a friend and I were mountain biking when we saw these weird lights in a triangle. The object moved like nothing we had ever seen it could stand still or shoot across the sky at terrific speeds. It wasn't a copter they can't descend that fast and make a quick stop like this did. we stood there and watched it for 10 min before Dave asked if I saw it too, we both thought it was a hallucination at first.
Well living in a military town we figured maybe it as some test craft. Until five or six years later I saw a video on the news taken from a military control tower. A

Some people say that certain people have an ability to see things that others can't.

Others remind them of the brownies and mushrooms they were eating or later they find out they have an inoperable brain tumor.

My old dog, Freckles, was a dalmation. She was cremated and her ashes are in a box on top of the fireplace. I see a shadow of her sometimes late at night. Not every night though. Also hear noises that sounds like a dog walking or scratching. My girlfriend says she has seen the dog too.

So yeah, I think there is some kind of dog ghost in my house. I miss that dog so shes welcomed.

I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters '80 to '82 in the AF. I moved off base with my roommate in a little cottage on the North Sea in a village called Bawdsy (yes same Bawdsy radar was invented). Another couple friends JT and Terry lived in the cottage next to us and we all worked swingshift in the 510th Aircraft Maintenance Branch. One night after work we went to the all night laundry mat on base to do laundry. About 2am when we were done with laundry we all loaded up in JT's Hillman Hunter and headed for home. We took the route that passsed RAF Woodbridge and on through Rendlesham Forest about 16 miles to home. It was one of those typical English nights with low lying fog about knee high but you could see the stars and moon glowing over the fog. About a couple miles past Woodbridge gate we see what appears to be someone sitting on the side of the road. JT starts to slow down to see if someone needs help. As we approach this figure on the side of the road it doesn't move. It looks like a woman in her 20's pale white with long straight black hair wearing what looks like a long night gown. We were looking at her and she did not move. Terry, Tony, and myself start telling JT GO GO GO! It was just creepy and we knew something was not right with this scene. We bolted, went home and drank heavily and discussed what we'd seen. We couldn't figure it out and never saw this again.

Fast forward to 1984 in Alamogordo New Mexico. I subsequently was stationed at Holloman AFB NM. As with all young people we had our party spots. One in particular was in this canyon by a stream we called the hanging tree. Supposedly some lady hanged her kids there and then herself "way back when". Don't know if that is true but that was the storey. There must of been about twenty of us out there hanging out and drinking beer. Amongst all the chatter of partiers I over hear a British accent. I tune in to her conversation and she (a military dependent) is telling this story of a woman that was killed in a car wreck in Rendlesham Forest just past the Woodbridge gate that haunts that part of the road. She likes to step out in front of cars at the last minute causing the drivers to swerve and go off the road wrecking and many times killing them. Holy shit!!!! I had chills running up and down my spine. I turned to her and told her our story. I was shocked but relieved that for what ever reason we were not harmed. This was just too coincidental in my mind. And FWIW I had never met this girl telling the story before.

Enjoy,

Mike

I lived in a haunted house for about a year, the house was 120 years old when I moved in and was a huge classic three family wisconsin farm house.

I will spare the stories, but all I can tell you is the nay sayers can say what ever they like I experienced it.

When my family first moved to VA we lived in a big old house just outside Lexington. When I say old I mean early 1800s. It didn't have any lights in the ceilings only outlets that you had to plug lamps into and the bathrooms were all small and kind of awkardly placed were they were installed after indoor plumbing came into existance. It even had a trapdoor in one of the downstairs rooms that led to a dirt pit under the house with an old victorian style chair in on corner. My little brother and I spent many nights under our beds because we would hear people walking up the stairs and the iron gate on the path that led from the road to the house would squeek open and shut in the middle of the night.
Then when my parents bought their farm in Fairfield VA it had an old foundation down in the woods near the creek. One day when I was about 11 or 12 my brother and some friends and I were on a "military" expedition down there we stopped at the foundation and were rolling some rocks around and picking up some pieces of pottery we heard a door slam and the sound of someone walking across a wooden floor right over top of us. We all froze looking at each other for a few moments then with out saying a word we broke into a sprint for the house. I've gone back down there many times since but I don't mess with anything.

I hear you Musky! The cottage that I mentioned above in England that we lived in has many more stories. It was built in the early 19th century and many weird things happened while I was there. My roommate used to talk to them and sometimes get responses. No wonder I drank as much as I did then LOL!!!

The Lou!
I always live in very old houses. I've found several of them to have weird things going on.

My first house I knew the owner, Mr. Marksberry, had died in it. The kitchen light would flicker on and off at night and leave me in the dark. My mom was over one night and the light was especially erratic. She went into the kitchen and said very calmly outloud "Mr. Marksberry, this is my daughters house now, and you are scaring her with your light trick. I'd like for you to leave her alone now." The light stopped flickering and it never happened again. I lived in that house for almost 8 years and I never once had to replace that lightbulb. One night my dog jumped up, looked into the kitchen and started raising holy hell. There was nothing there but she saw something. I could see her eyes focusing on something at the center of the room (under the light coincidentally) and not just staring at the back door. Then a year or so later, my girlfriend pulled up to my house one night while I was at work and saw a shadowy figure standing in the Florida room (if you're from Florida then you know what it is). She called me crying afraid to go in the house. I got off work and went home and there was nothing there. So this Mr. Marksberry left me alone after my moms warning, but he continued to harass my dog and girlfriend. LOL

I believe this statement.

Sometimes, some people are just more connected than others. I have very specific dreams of situations that I've never been in, or can't imagine being in and then on the day it comes, I get the most intense deja vu. It is overwhelming actually.

I've only experienced vision type stuff a few times, but the experiences I've had are more like feelings than visions of actual "beings."

Alright, I was born in Louisville KY and moved to Lake Charles LA when I was 10 and moved back to Louisville and went to an all boys catholic school for Jr and Sr year. I hadn't really met up with kids I ran around with when I was younger and I was trying to make new friends at my school...A group of guys from the swim team asked me if I wanted to go out with them one night and looking to fit in I told them I would meet them. Well, I think they thought they were going to show the new kid a good time and scare the shit out of me so they took me out to Waverly Hills Sanatorium. For those that don't know what Waverly Hills is check out there site http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com/. It was a TB hospital back in the day and thousands of people died there, and it was also an insane asylum. Since I went, they have fenced in the property which sits on a big hill overlooking Dixie Highway on the south end of Louisville, and they now have 24 hr security to keep people out, vandalism, etc. We went out there around 11:00 one night, mind you it was back when we could just pull up to the front door and park because it was just abandoned, but it has always been a local hotspot for paranormal activity and the hospital has a few well known places that people see shit. We went in there and I remember walking into one of the rooms on the 5th floor (the psychiatric floor I think) where, allegedly, one of the patients had murdered one of the night shift nurses by hanging her in the room. Walking into the room you could feel the temperature fall several degrees and was very noticable, and it was almost like you could feel something in there walking close and brushing up against you. We also went up to the roof where the children had a playground where they could play in the sun. Well, of course we had a few beers to work up the courage to go in there, and one of the kids threw the can on the ground and we walked around. We hadn't really seen anything that would make you believe in ghosts or anything besides the cold temp and weird feeling in the one room, but this is what really began to freak me out. The can had settled and we walked around for a minute or two and one of the kids, probably slightly drunk and trying to be a hardass, kept talking about how much BS the whole thing was and it wasn't that scary, etc. Well, we heard that can start rolling back and forth and what sounded like the giggle of a child and we walked over to it and it stopped. There wasn't any breeze, but when we began to head for the door it started rolling back and forth again. This is when we really started moving to the door and we headed down the stairs by the door for the psychiatric floor and by the time we got to bottom of the stair well we could hear someone running down the hall, faintly laughing, above us and then heard the stairwell door slam. We started to tear ass out of there and the door at the bottom that we had originally left open was closed, but the one we had heard close was from above us. We were going to check out the infamous body chute where numerous people have reported seeing shit, but we got out of there and I have never been back.

Not too long after I went out there, they put up the fences and the security to keep people out, they had Ozz fest there one year afterwards, and also a local businessman bought the property and has/had intentions of making it a haunted hotel where you could go and stay the night, and I think they are also guided tours.

While living in Louisiana, we lived on a street that backed up to the lake and that had apparently been built on an indian grave yard. I can definitely remember hearing a sound that was like someone running down the street in the middle of the night, and neighbors who were older and had lived there for years and years said they had heard it on a regular basis ever since they had been there, since houses had been built there.

There's a line in the movie MOTHMAN that goes "you noticed them, and they noticed that you noticed them", I've never noticed them personally, don't know if thats a blessing or curse...

I've seen something similar while driving on highway 93 outside of Vegas heading towards Alamo. It was middle of the night, my wife was sleeping and my son was sleeping in the back. I hadn't seen a car for a while. Off to my right side I see these three bright orangeish lights that are formed into a triangle. So I keep looking and they're just staying in the same spot not moving from what I could tell. after staring at these for a minute I'm a little freaked out so I'm trying to wake my wife up so I can get a second opnion, but of course she won't wake up and I'm just short of yelling at her but I don't wake my kid up either. Well after my inability to wake my wife I just keep on watching these lights, thinking back to the movie "Fire in the Sky". So I continue to drive watching these lights out of the corner of my eye, then they just dissappear. So the rest of the drive home I keep looking for something else to show up but of course nothing else does. I haven't seen anything since.

One time my wife had to go to a conference in Louisville and we stayed at the Galt House. We actually lived in Louisville but it was all paid for so we just hung out there. She was off to some meeting and I stayed up in the room watching tv. Went out the door into the hall to head down to the bar downstairs and this "orb of light" for lack of a better word, came from down the hall toward me, scared the crap out of me.. I was fighting the door to try and get it back open. Just before this thing got to me I was able to get back in the room.. There weren't any windows where this could have been beaming in from.. no one else in the hall. I was Scared. My wife came back to the room later and thought I was crazy (maybe I am) or had been drinking (I was not).. I think it was like the 12th floor or something, I really can't remember. Anyway, I believe that there is something else out there.. kinda getting creeped out now.. time to watch this video to clear my head.
