Make sure the roch isnt trying to wear a hole thru your hood sorry BONNET . You do have the air cleaner elbow hooked up I hope. The Roch is very tall.
When I was running the zenith it would also require periodic adjustment of the float. My engine may of had vibration issues causing the pin in the flaot to wear.

I found the one barrel webber to be the most dependable

The Lou!
If ya ever need an extra Weber you are more than welcome to mine. It's apart on the bench and ready for a rebuild. :)

The Roch is definately a tall drink of water! My elbow looks like it has seen some modification, it's been split down the middle, flattened and welded back up. I've got to hit the hardware store today and get a rubber plumbing sleeve to mate the narrow Roch with my wider elbow. I've read the Roch likes a little more air than the stock air filter will give it, so I'm considering a clamp on paper filter.

Club meeting this thursday!

The pin or the float itself? I found that the pin was wearing oval holes in the softer brass of the float...and that was only a year old. The symptom is running poorly (too much fuel sloshing down the throat) when turning in one direction and not the other. The metal from later models seems to be inferior to those from long ago. Replaced said float with one made circa 1972. All is well now...at least for a while.

Cheers

I am not sure what was wearing exactly I just know that it would get out of adjustment and start running rich. It doesn't take much wear to raise the float level . I have used an origanal one from a 71 IIA and a newer one made in the early 90's and they both did the same thing.

Roverah here in St Louis ran the oil bath on his 71 IIA with a 2BLL weber on a 151 cubic inch Iron duke Chevy. And it worked. It was the oil bath filter that come with the raised intake kit that he had on it.

The oil bath filters are very good filters in my opinion and I would have never taken it off.

Ther were two different diameters on the carb side of the elbows. The one for zenith was smaller than the one for the earlier solex.
