The stock exhaust is not restrictive to the small Rover V8. There is no performance exhaust because there is no performance to unleash. Aftermarket exhausts do exist, but don't kid yourself. They only change the sound.

Free flow exhaust will possibly increase performance but not enough to notice except maybe on a dyno. Certainly not seat of the pants. It will increase cabin noise...especially in the rear seat. I run a stock aftermarket Y-pipe and an old s/s Borla system (muffler/no resonator). It has a nice mild and throaty sound but has the typical highway drone. Another friend just cut out the resonator due to rot. It sounds decent too. Is there any particular reason your wanting to do this or are the old cats rattling and the muffler/resonator rotting out?

i have a gently used cat back NRP (original one) sitting in my storage if you want. slight increase in performance. I can take some photos this weekend, time allowing. Great shape and in perfect working condition. had just under 6k miles on it when I took it off.
