Every fucking time I get into a rental. And I hate it.

Kennith - the E30 was an example, pick your particular poison of choice.
The point was that, for the price of a brand new econobox... never mind.

I know that. I've used that reasoning many, many times, and I do agree. It makes more sense to pick up a used car.

I'm just not feeling it right now. It would be nice to have something new that I can essentially ignore for a few years. There's quite a bit of value in that sometimes.

Which of course is fine as it is your prerogative...

...but this line of reasoning doesnt make sense.

Dont you see a hundred Fiestas in traffic everyday? Im pretty sure they are rental fleet cars as well.

My point is that BMW is tied with Volvo for the "automotive enthusiast's fourteenth car of choice" award, and it's almost always an E30.

And no, around here, you don't see too many Fiestas on the road. If I was considering a big, stupid, white, diesel Chevrolet, it would be another story.

If you come across a clean one, and go to sell it again, you need to call me.

I didn't have $500 then but, I've got $500 now.

That was one bad mother fucker. I really liked those Mexican rims, too...

I shouldn't have sold it.

This is definitely a valid thought. I had a Mazda 3 for about 4 or 5 years as a DD. Because my daily commute was 60 miles and the gas savings along paid for the car. Not to mentioned the money saved on maintenance by only driving the rover 1,000 - 2,000 miles a year.

But eventually the thought of driving a Mazda 3 for another 5 years got the best of me. So now I DD in an F-150 Super Crew with the Ecoboost. Which has all the power I could want, seats 5 big people or 6 smaller ones and I can haul a ton of stuff in the back. I don't get the 30+ mpg I did in the Mazda but I'm ok with the 18-20mpg I get now.

I was flying out to Raleigh/Durham last year to see a friend of mine at Duke and almost got stranded in Charlotte for the night because of snow. I decided to go ahead and rent a Ford Fiesta and it was so sweet! I made it over to Durham in no time and the Ford Sync was the best thing ever!
