The thing has the capability to test itself with Testbook. I just change stuff 'till it passes. You don't have that luxury. Fuel cap is not common, but soem earlier ones would not thread in well. Purge valve is common, won't close. It's near the idle stabilizer on the manifold. You should not be able to blow through it. There is always the chance of a line leaking, but it's pretty rare. Lastly, when all else fails, I try a DMTL pump.
In addition, take the time to check your fuel path. From the filler neck, all the way down to the tank and then to the engine. Do you see any dried run marks or cracks by anything? I had that happen once. . . changed EVERYTHING, hoses, valves caps, vents, untill finally changing the filler neck. Go figure. Sometimes they can have small fractures in them if you're not careful filling it with gas. Good luck! - Elias
