Hi, sorry for another warranty thread. I'm about to purchase an extended warranty for the Disco (41K currently on the clock). I've narrowed it down to two options.

I've searched and seen that people have had fairly good things to say about both, but wanted to see if anyone has anything they can add that will help make my decision easier (i know some of you think the extended warranties are worthless...).

1. LR Assured - 3 years/ 36K/100 ded. for around $3600
2. EasyCare - 3 years/36K/100 ded. for around $3200

3. Premiere Essential - 3 years/36K/110 ded. for $2300 or 4 years/36K/100 ded. for $2500 (NOT really in my running since I've not heard of the brand...)

I guess I'm leaning towards the LR Assured even though it's the highest priced because of piece of mind. I figure having the LR one will avoid any hassles when or if it comes time for a claim. Mileage isn't much of an issue. I've only put about 5-6K on it since buying it back at the beginning of last Nov.

Anyway, I appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thanks!

Easy Care & LR Assured should be the same warranty (they were the same company). I'd make 100% sure that's the right price on the LR warranty... they just raised the rates to obscenely high #s... Your dealer might be looking at the old pricing sheet. I just looked up an original owner warranty for a Sport for a customer, and it was over $11k! We've been forced to go aftermarket. I've never heard of Premiere Essential. I'd look into Continental as another option.

those prices are close to correct, even those are up from about 2000-2500 just before the rise in pricing. the plans from APCO (EasyCare and Assured) are the same, but only one of them can be purchased if you are the original owner, if you arent the original owner you only have one option. I cannot recall which is which.

Good luck, every dealer quotes different prices, they also factor some of the pricing on whether they will get the work or not.

My APCO/Easycare has been great. The worst thing that happened was when I needed a new steering pump and they wanted to put in a used one. So to put in a new one I had to pay the difference (between the New - Used) which was $200. Land Rover parts/labor is so pricey that I have paid for the warranty in parts/labor.. But, I got my warranty when it was much cheaper..

Thanks for the feedback. My dealer is giving me a discount on the price of the LR which is originally $4161. This price is for preowned vehicles. The original owner one was much higher, kinda odd... I was actually given the same price for the LR one at two different dealers so at least neither is totally ripping me off...I was able to see the price booklets so I know that's the cost too.

I was told that the EasyCare/Apco is now different than the LR Assured but that could be misinformation...it must be backed by someone tho...

they are different coverages, same provider. the one for original owner/CPO covers everything, and in some cases has zero deductible.

just get something from APCO from the dealer and you will be fine, they sell the warranty, so they will cover issues without fight.

For $3200 per year you can buy a pretty good list of major components and if your truck behaves then you could buy lockers front and rear, winch bumper and winch and still fill up the tank with gas at the end of the year.

If you have ever turned a wrench yourself, I would seriously contemplate this before signing on the dotted line.
