Hey guys,

I am about to tackle my first Tune up, I just wanted to get an idea of preferred parts.

What plugs should I get? is there a performance difference amongst plugs?., Should I get the wire set? This is my tune up list, anything else?

Plugs
Wire set
O2 sensors x 4

Thanks for your thoughts.

And if you ever use the word "performance" here again we will lamb baste you and poke you in your kidney until you cry for mercy. It's the Dweb way. And being a fellow Tampon I figured I am just the person for the job. :D

Stock champions is what I use. Search will confirm that answer.

Kingsborne wires are the way I went. Very pleased now for over 20k miles.

Ahhh, I've been to Apollo Beach many times. It always scared me cause of all the seaweed and shit there along the beach. Felt like I had crawlings all trying to get up in my bidness.

But yeah, I'm a Champion fan in my D1. Not sure what other D2 owners think. Just don't be swayed or talked into Bosch Platinums. Trust me on this one. :)

6+ hours for plugs and wires?
I'd give you a hard time, but what should have been about an hour job for me turned into two days. A wire fell apart in my hand, and I couldn't get it back together. Had to wait until the next day until the dealership opened to get a replacement wire.
I had called all the parts places here on island and the BEST answer I got was "What's a Land Rover? Never heard of it."

Anybody old enough to remember when changing plugs and wires took 20 minutes? Remember when you could get lost in the engine bay because of its size? Now you get lost because of all the wires and hoses and shit. I kinda miss those days. I think I'll start looking for another 72 Cutlass, or something older.

LOL. I keep thinking back at everything I did and I can't figure out why it took so damn long. I've found there's a lot of collateral damage when working on these trucks. I managed to break a clip off my airbox, cracked my serpentine belt cover, and obliterated some corrugated wire loom.

Many like the OEM Champions, some like Bosch +4, some don;t. I run NGK G-Powers now for 40K and they seem to work well with my original plug wires. Plan on replacing plug wires with some better wires, not sure what that might be at this point, and with 40K on my NGks I plan on putting NGK G-Power plugs in again.
