Stop talking about me. My life is no bed of roses, that's for sure. People are the problem. I have a TrueTrac stuck in customs in Montreal. If I could speak French, I might be able to get through to these people. I might as well spend the weekend in the hotel watching HBO or ESPN.

are you referring to that sweet thang on the ATV at Rausch? wow.....i bet she sweats alot.

I will be there with the rest of the Tide Water lads. I will be in a White D90...diesel and right hand drive. Oi for England! I have never been to MAR thus I am really looking forward to it. We will not be arriving until Friday. How difficult will it be to find a spot to camp?

there is usually plenty of space on the island. just talk to the folks upon signing up. they will be able to show you options. shouldn't be a problem.

"Island"? Suppose I will sort it out

well it is the area across the cause way and the most removed area of camping. and there is usually lots of space down there for camping.
once you register take a drive down there. as you drive past the registration area continue down the hill and at the Y in the road where the small white house is bear left. continue down the hill and you will eventually come to a causeway/water crossing. this takes you out to the 'island'. it will run east-west at this point, so drive around and see if this suits you. it's actually pretty nice and since the forcast is for dry weather it will be even better.
if not drive back up to the main area and drive around. you can find little pockets of fields and open space everywhere.
good luck.

Would someone be willing to give me a seat as a passenger for some rides? I'm going to be in my new RR, and while I will off road some, it's by no means a trail rig. I'll be arriving solo & don't want to be stuck by myself the whole trip. I have a shower to offer at the Fork Union Motor Lodge if anyone's interested!

You're more than welcome to ride shotgun on any trails I go on.. my only request is if I happen to go under 4 feet of water, you climb out the window onto the roof rack and get the recovery strap (It's happened before, but I don't think i'll ever go into that much water again! :))

Yeah, i'm very sick of water crossings right now.. I still cant get the water out of my hellas!

This is from Bob Steele @ roav.org's forums:
Today at Pearl's Pond, we had drizzle all morning, with two light showers later in the day. All in all, everything is still very dry.

River level is low. Both the east and west ends are navigible and connect to the East and West River Trails.

Alyssa and Folks,

I have been reading (mostly) Disco web for several years and I am going to MAR for first time. I really hope to meet lots of you this weekend. I will be driving my DII G4 and wife is driving her silver DII HSE. Staying on the scenic trails I think. New to all of this. Hope to do lots of research on winches, bumpers, skid plates. We are staying at some B&B near by.

Alyssa,
If I can find you once we get there, you are more than welcome to ride with me anytime. You could even drive my Disco if you want (I trust you!). It would be nice to have some female companionship!

I think we will be in the Upper Meadow Camping....you've seen my truck I think. Gold D1-4THMTNS plates.

See you all there!

(oh and yes, it's raining today and is supposed to be raining tomorrow.... )
