I know that works for the drain plug, but my front diff fill plug looks like a normal hex nut - a large one at that.

With a thin slot cut in the top as well - never seen anything quite like it!

Anyone?

The fill plug is 13/16. I just did mine this weekend and it worked perfectly.

hey chris
glad to have helped but i can't take all the glory, if you look at landrover owner international magazine website(www.lro.com) under discovery there's an article about the diff plug. but no you cannot remove the cap landrover replaced the old 1/2" steel plug with a full plastic version it's the same as fitted to rangerover p38 diffs also log onto www.difflock.com as well.
