Front one is stuck just barely open, about 1/4". Miraculously, it does not leak a drop.

Is there a manual way to close this, even though the motor is burnt out?

Also, has anyone thought about metal, removable sunroof covers? When I was in Kenya the Toyota LC hard tops had solid aluminum sunroof covers that cam-locked into place (for game viewing). I don't want to just replace the motor - would like a more durable covering so that it doesn't break at some point.

Thanks.

The big, open roofs on the Cruisers made me think of it. If you wanted them open, you just opened the oversize luggage style latches, lifted the cover out of the way, and slid it into its storage area. Pretty trick. I'm sure it stems from the very real possibilty that an animal (namely lions) could easily jump up on the car and put their foot through a glass sunroof. :eek3: :eek3:

But frankly I found out that you can get hand cranks for the sunroofs and will go that route. Lions being relatively scarce in these parts.
