d2 5 gal water jugs in storage bin location?

I pulled the jumps seats out of my 04 d2 last week because I have never used them and they rattle a stupid amount. Now I have two sopts in the cargo area that fit my jerry can water jugs perfectly. Has anyone put cans there before and come up with a solid mounting or strapping solution? Its kind of an odd location with no real solid places around it to attach mounting points. There are however the for bolts/posts where the seats were mounted.

I used to carry a Sceptre 5 gal water can in the back of my D1 in the same space; these work well:

You can drill a hole and bolt in using existing seat mounts.

I made a shelf in the cargo compartment that sits level with the back seat folded down; the shelf has a cutout for a jerrycan in place of a jump seat, and shelf supports hold it from flopping around.
