I am trying to put some tie downs in my '95 D1 using the existing holes in the rear floor; anyone know the exact size bolt to use? I have searched archives to no avail..................Thanks in advance.

7/16" UNF on my 1991 Discovery. Is suspect that is still the case as it is the "normal" size for seat belt mounts.

I am trying to use the 4 existing tie downs that are under the rear carpet. They originally had plastic covers over them and I removed them. It appears they are threaded; anyone know what size? I tried a 10 and it is too small. I am guessing an 11? I am not using the seat belt anchors......................

I've wondering this myself how do you tie down stuff if you don't have the tie downs on the floor. Also the factory tie downs how are those put in?

This is the current configuration of my cargo area with the secondary flooring installed. As you may be able to tell, I am actively involved in emergency management and disaster response operations. That said, safety is a high priority for me. :)

If I recall correctly, the thread size is large, approximately 11 mm. People found it just about impossible to source stateside. I tapped mine to fit a 7/16-28 bolt. Holds my cargo drawers just fine. Empty the drawers/sleeping plateform weigh about 80 lbs., filled about 160 lbs. Never had a problem over bouncy terrain, but I have never rolled it either. Just my $0.02
