Does anyone know if a D2 rear door will fit a D1. Can the locking mechanisms be changed from one to the other? My rear Door is falling apart and the local yard is littered with D2s and I was thinking about picking one up if they will work.

I believe the door itself is the same. I know the license plate area looks different, but the shape of the door and hinges are the same. I am not sure about the electronics though.
Where are you at that they have lots of DIIs in the salvage yard? I wished we had a salvage yard like that here.

Check and see if you have a U Pick type place around you. I just stopped by the one that opened by me in October and they had 9 discos on the lot.

The lock/actuator is completely different and not transferable, but the handle assembly (the part that messes up and prevents you from opening the rear door) is interchangeable.

that is interchangable. u shaped is old style that wears out and causes the door to rattle, roller peg and groove is new style that causes door to rattle slightly less, but still destroy any door mounted subwoofers with ease.
