Craigslist Ass hat

So I send James the shop guy to look at this parts P38 and if its all there to negotiate a price and set up a time to get the junk wagon. The guy said as long as he had a deposit it could stay there for a bit. We got hit with a snow storm the next day and could not pick it up. He told James if he did not come out to pay in full for the truck that he does not have a title for, the deposit was gone. His craigslist ad has been rapidly dropping in price for the past few months. The same ad which has stated for those months that the title will be there any day.

He told James that it was sold and he was out his deposit on Sunday. Then on Monday 12-16, he re-lists the truck for sale for $700. We flag it. It gets removed. Today, he re-lists it for $1000.

His name is Tom.

Here is the ad. Time to show him some dweb love.

Still waiting for a reply to my inquiry:

Hi Tom, I saw your ad for the Range Rover and it's exactly what I'm looking for. I have one just like it that also needs some work. I would like to know if you would be willing to sell some of the parts separately from your truck. Here's what I need:

  • two of the wheels (I have some crazy curb rash on both my front wheels, I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm not very good at parking)
  • the rear seats
  • one of the driving lights that's on the brush guard
  • the sunroof
  • rearview mirror
  • upper rear tailgate
I'm in Depew and could swing by to pick up the parts this Saturday. Let me know how much you'd like for them. Thanks,

I know several Ugandans that would love the chance to make a new friend in America. Name, phone number, and a "he's interested in helping with school fees" is all it would take :)

I think it's now time to ask for cheap parts that appear to be easily removed, but in fact require much time and effort the second you begin the process; time and effort that must be expended, as the action cannot be stopped within reason until it is complete.

What small parts are around the headliner, as an example, that once removed would leave a quarter of the trim removed and the liner itself flopping about?

If it was a DII, I'd ask for the clock and opposite switch panel, knowing full well that he would bust his fingernails in the removal process. I fucking hate those things.

Cheers,

Kennith

Asking for air bags might be a good idea, if one were to later ask for the exhaust system. Another interesting idea would be asking for a coil pack. :D

Of course, one must allow the sale to all through after removal. After all, it's a fitting penalty for his own behavior.

Cheers,

Kennith

Just asked him for the rear wiring harness. He said he would get back to me. Also asked for the coil pack as suggested. Guy is a complete moron. He wanted $75 to ship to NOVA.
