I have an sd, and want to put the premium stereo from a higher model into it. If anyone has upgraded their stereo, let me know, id be happy to take this off your hands.

If you are talking stock radio set up...wiring maybe BIG issue. On my 03 'S' I could not upgrade due to amp wiring connector (not there) and being told by LR that they would need to re-wire entire harness (Big$$). 03 radio has built in (100 watt)amp vs external (under seat) HK amp on premium models...I picked up an 04 LR head unit (w/single CD) which at least gives me CD player..good luck on your quest...check out a RAVE CD for more wiring info..

Hey, If you are having trouble finding the unit I can tell you that the same exact radio is available at Crutchfield here:

Crutchfield is probably the best place if you need some type of custom wiring done. They make and sell their own convertors and adapters.

The unit used to cost over $700 but lack of demand or slow sales have made them more affordable. Honestly, if the navigation unit wasn't so good I would have dumped this head unit a long time ago. The radio is not that great. You could do much much better. It also has some overheating issues with regards to the LCD becoming "scarred" until it cools down again.

Navisys Head Unit

Question. We just bought a 2004 Disco II HSE. We didn't get the GPS system but we do have the Harman Kardon stereo system. Can I just purchase the Harman Kardon Traffic pro aftermarket and just install it? Any gotchas?

If you pull your head unit and take a pic of the plugs on the back, I might be able to answer that. I realize you have a Disco, but in the FL with the H/K option, it's a plug-in upgrade to the NAV head unit and the Disco may be the same. I had to tap the VSS and reverse lamp circuits under the dash, no biggie. My DII has the same head unit that my FL had, so I ordered another HK Nav unit to plug in that one. The Visteon (single CD head unit) that is common in LR's has the same plug arrangement as Blaupunkt and Blaupunkt also plugs in the stock plugs... at least it has on mine. YMMV...
