Does any know where the reader is plugged into? Also, once the problem is fixed, how do I clear the Check Engine message light?
Thank you :)

On my D1 you plug the code reader into a socket below the steering column. You might need to stick your head into the foot well to get a good view of it. Once you see the male end on the code reader's cable you will know what to look for.

As for clearing the code, the reader I used at O'Reilly (a blue Innova?) automatically read the code. There is a button with an icon in the shape of an eraser that you push. After a couple seconds of communication with your truck the code will clear. It may not register until after you re-start your engine.

I have given up on this approach since the check engine light will come back on within a couple days of me clearing the code. Even though I live a few blocks from an O'Reilly's, I welcome the reminder to buy a new fuel pump. Fortunately I just found a great deal on one.

Good luck with clearing your code. Hope the dash stays dark for you.

Thank You...found the plug-nice and loose of course. The code I received was P0125...with probable causes:
1. Coolant level low, checked this and fine.
2. Thermostat defective
3. ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor defective.

How do I know if it's #2 or #3? Is there any way to tell and are both reasonably easy to fix/replace?
Thanks again...will ask this in a new thread as well :)
