CEL Code 14 "Coolant Thermistor"?
Anyone know what causes this?
Last time(different truck) I just cleared the code and it never came back. I suppose I'll clear this one and wait...

Last week I had an loose connection to my ignition amp on dizzy which kicked out Code 14. Cleared it and it never came back. If it comes back I would replace the Coolant sensor.

LOL! Hmmm...I've got two wires dangling in space on the pass/side of the oil pan(?) , wonder if that's on the same circuit...!

My 2 wires dangle of the same persuasion, but I dont have a code. I pulled out the sensor, but my oil light still blinks upon start up then goes away. Actually, I've tried replacing the reader box and even with the CE light illuminated sometimes, I dont get ANY codes! EVER! How's that for frustrating!

Yes, let's hear about this coolant thermistor!!
Spill the beans!

As for the blinking oil light eliaschristeas, I believe that's normal until pressure is achieved.

PT, does the oil level sender light up the oil light as well?

Bump for Sep. 09!

Code 14......It's back! This time the truck seems to run a little rough though.
Is this sensor on the intake somewhere?
And who has the cheapest one??:D

I have dealt with this and found the wires in the plug for the thermistor broken about 1/4' back from the plug a couple of times now.

I guess they must get flexed there to much over the life and they fail. that part of the harness is allready kinda tight and short so I have had the best luck by snipping off the wires and soldering on a new length of wire and connector from a parts truck or harness and leaving enough slack so the harnes isnt pulled tight and causing a future failure.

Check to make sure you don't have the #1 injector connector swapped with the near by temp sensor. They are the same looking plug and the harness just 'Y' at the end they can be reversed very easily. Causes a code 14. (Don't ask.)
