does anyone have the cluster wiring diagrams for a disco one and a disco 2? I want to see if I can splice the disco 2 basic guages into my disco 1.

I am trying for the basic functions, tach, speedo, fuel, and temp and turn signals. I am basically hunting for the wiring diagrams for both clusters to find signal wires. (colors) I have done many cluster swaps from analog to digital with no problems and have defeated immobilizer in vw and audi. Earlier in the year I cracked the infamous red key coding with ducati ecu and cluster, so I am thinking of giving this a shot. It may not work but I amgoing to give it a try. Does anyone have the harnes diagrams?

Do a search under RAVE CD, there are wiring diagrams on at least the older versions. IMHO, what they are refering to, it that the D2 cluster is digital, in that the "temp" gage reads what the ECU thinks the temp is, either "cold", "normal", or "hot". If you want to know if things are ok, etc, I'd suggest spending money and buying individual gages to measure, volts, temp, oil pressure, etc.

Yes, I'm sure we could kill many brain cells, drink many frosty beverages, and come up with a blue wire to the white wire guide, but you'd still have no oil pressure indication, a crappy temp indication, and a speedo/tach, and odometer. So, you'd be taking out analog gages that at least indicate what's happening, to put in a newer cluster that shows what the ECU wants to show.

Now if you wanted to swap in a really cool cluster, like one out of an Element........

Love Ya Chris.

I will check for the rave cds. I have autometer guages monitoring oil pressure, water temp, and a volt guages. All the important things are monitored. If anyone has the pages please email them to me. Its mailny for asthetics. My d1 is more of a d2 anyways. Lights, fenders, taillight panels and lights, and interior. As for the comment that I should just buy a d2 my awnser is I have too much time on my hands and I like killing th brain cells with frosty beverages.

I do not have any recent pics after I am completely finished. If you check my previous posts there are some almost finished pics. I had to reduce the gap at the top and my passenger fender, even though cut the same, did not fit well untill I realized the fender was pushed in at the bottom. the tailights are a pain due to the spot welds and really not worth the effort.

hey I think your nuts but I like the idea if only for the challenge and not the purpose if that makes sence..... it could be done and may be more $ and time than you think then will the d2 cluster fit in a d1 dash ???? you will need both wireing harneses for a d1 and a d2 and lots of beer and time some head scraching but it should be fun useles but fun enjoy

The d2 runs on a bus line. Shoot, the computer even feeds the tach signal. I will be COMEPLTELY impressed, and will look for holes in yur hand if you pull off this miracle.

If this isn't sig line worthy, nothing is!

Holes in the hands-LOL. Suppose he can walk on water? Fawk that, I want to see wine from water! I don't give a rat's ass about the lame and the blind, but anybody who can make a DII instrument panel work in a DI AND turn water to wine is a deity in my book! Of course, beer would be better, but I'll settle for wine! :smilelol: :D

If he pulls this off, I may change my feelings about faith!
