The cable behind my climate control module in my 95 D1 has broke and my wife refuses to ride with me until I fix it. So, how labor intesive is it to replace the AC control assembly in a old school D1?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Depending upon where it's busted, it will take from one hour to three or four.

Pull the knobs, start removing parts until the control unit comes loose. Again, depending upon what's broken, you might not have to go any further, or you might have to keep going to get to the end of the cables. FWIW, it is very common for the cables to be intact, but the fittings on the ends either break or the mating pieces do.

When you buy the control, it comes with a new fan switch, resist the urge to leave the old one in place, trust me on this part.
