Just completed my head gasket job, replaced the valve springs, rocker assembly, valves, lifters, remanufactured injectors (Bosch Gen 3 19 lbs), oil pressure sensor, fuel filter, new Champion Spark Plugs, and replaced the seal for the front timing cover on my ?96 D1. Sparkplug wires are original Magnecor. After putting it all back together and driving it down the street, my check engine light came on. I pulled the following codes:

P1316 (Misfire Causing Excessive Emissions)
P0300 (Random Misfire Detected)
P0303 (Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected)
P1191 (Downstream Heater ? Harware Driver O/C (both heaters)
P1314 (Misfire Likely To Damage Catalyst, Bank B)

Engine ran fine before the head gasket job (just leaked like a sieve) and the fuel pump is relatively new. Idles fine. Any thoughts on how I would troubleshoot and correct the problems?

Just figured out the problem. Apparently when I got into my front end collision (which was the catalyst in starting my head gasket replacement) the 4 engine and transmission bolts/mounts sheared right off. As a result the engine and the transmission moved forward. When that happened the O2 sensors located after the catalytic converter also shifted forward and hit the cross member. It broke off one of the O2 sensor and damaged the other.

$300 later at Kragen for 2 Bosch O2 sensors and my truck is running smooth.

As a note... after I replaced the lifters, pushrods, and rocker assembly, I have no more ticking on cold startups and is quite as when I bought her at 9K mi.
